when i was in 1st grade we had WTR

writing to read

one time we had to read this story and answer questions

one of the questions elicited a "no" answer

but i thought i was real clever by writing

"no way josé"

with the accent over the e and everything!

ms. schwabe didn't think it was clever

i got a little lecture on how that was apparently"rude"

but i had the accent over the e!
